    GKI Resort to Run Off Solar Power - Australia’s First Carbon Positive Resort

    Central Queensland could become the home of Australia’s first ever ‘carbon positive’ resort.
     
    This would be achieved through the installation of more than 23,000 solar panels installed on building roofs within the Resort, able to produce approximately 11,200 megawatt hours of clean renewable energy each year.

    GKI Revitalisation Plan seeks support to undertake Environmental Impact Statement
    The EIS studies will identify the environmental, social, economic and cultural heritage values of the Island and surrounding marine waters to inform the design team and developer on how to best avoid impacts on these values.
